Overview
A four-bedroom pool villa at Ao Por, on Phuket's quieter north-east coast, where the island faces Phang Nga Bay. The main floor is a single-storey pavilion under tiled, gabled roofs, with a second level of rooms set into the slope below the pool terrace.
Folding glass doors open the living room onto a broad pool terrace with sun loungers, and beyond the palms lies the bay. Under the deep eaves, an oval teak table is laid for meals outside. Indoors, vaulted timber ceilings run over the living room, a breakfast bar and a fitted kitchen, with a long dining table beside windows onto the garden.
Two bedrooms share the main floor with the living spaces. Each has timber floors, a leather sleigh bed, doors to the pool terrace and its own bathroom: one with a freestanding bath, the other with a whirlpool bath and a walk-in wardrobe. On the lower level, two further bedrooms open through glass doors onto the garden, beside a games room with a pool table and rattan sofas.
Stone steps lead down from the pool through a planted garden. Ao Por is a working stretch of coast rather than a resort strip, with longtail boats moored off the beach, a long pier and a yacht marina along the shore.
