Overview
A small piece of shipping-container architecture in Rawai, on the southern tip of Phuket. Two two-storey blocks stand side by side beneath floating steel roofs, with external staircases, full-height glazing and a lawn in front.
Inside, the containers keep their industrial character: corrugated steel ceilings and polished concrete floors, set against walls of exposed red brick or soft green and grey. Plants, framed prints and a few vintage pieces keep the rooms warm rather than raw.
There are four bedrooms, each styled differently and each with a double bed and air conditioning. Two open through glass doors onto balconies with a bistro table; one has a hanging chair by the window, the other a macrame hammock. The other two each have a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and sink, a breakfast bar and a sofa. The bathrooms are bright and simple, with hot-water showers.
Rawai is the southern corner of Phuket, known for its seafood market on the waterfront, with Nai Harn Beach and the Promthep Cape viewpoint in the same part of the island.
